400 years of silence was shattered by a baby’s cry. Such a small and quiet noise in the scope of the universe but that cry changed everything. God’s promise of redemption was set in motion in that humble stable and was witnessed by only a few, but the heavens knew and rejoiced.
When God is silent it seems like it will never end. The quiet weighs on our soul and can lead us to despair, to lose hope that anything will ever change. When things are at their worst, remember, God has not forgotten you. Just as a baby’s cry broke the silence that Holy night so long ago, your suffering in silence will not last forever. God sees you, hears your prayers. His reasons for waiting to respond are for His glory and always for your good. In the waiting, remember who He is. Remember that He is faithful and that His love for you is constant and never ending.
When it was time, God sent the Word and the heavens celebrated. They knew that what was coming was not only good but glorious. What God will do, is doing is glorious. Cling to Him and don’t lose faith. The cry that will change everything is coming.
